THE PRACTICAL CHOICE...A CAREER IN FINANCE
As a child, I excelled in creative subjects like drawing and writing, winning first place in both during primary school. In college one of my favorite classes was City Planning and Landscape Architecture. While creativity came naturally, I focused my studies on mathematics and science; and over time, I left my creative side unexplored. Instead, I pursued a more conventional path, earning an MBA and building a long career in financial services. Over the years, I held roles in portfolio management, product management, business development, and marketing. Still, I always felt a pull toward something more creative.
UX, AN ACCIDENTAL DISCOVERY
About five years ago, I discovered UX design when the company I worked for brought in a consultant to revamp several digital products. As a product owner, I was closely involved in every step of the process: from evaluation and research to design, testing, and release. Collaborating with the UX designer, I was captivated by the structured, user-centered approach and its ability to transform ideas into intuitive, engaging experiences. I saw firsthand how great design could drive engagement and improve customer satisfaction. That experience sparked a realization: UX design was the perfect intersection of my analytical strengths and long-dormant creative passions.
MY SECOND CAREER...UX
In 2023, I made the bold decision to leave my career in financial services and pursue a second career rooted in creativity. After taking time to reset and reflect, I enrolled in a UX design bootcamp to formally launch this new chapter. Upon completion of bootcamp, I’m excited to combine my business acumen with my creative drive to help clients craft thoughtful and impactful products through beautiful design and compelling storytelling.
FOR FUN, I...
...enjoy running, staying active, traveling and playing with my dog. I’ve completed six NYC Marathons, although my runs these days are a lot shorter and relaxed.
I love the varieties of New York City's architecture. The above photograph was taken in Tribeca; known for its blend of cast-iron buildings with ornate facades, loft warehouses and redbrick buildings.

...an aspiring user experience (UX) designer based in Brooklyn, New York, with a background in financial services. I made the transition to UX to craft thoughtful, intuitive experiences that simplify complexity and bring joy to users.
